How you can prepare:

Classroom Experience

A total of 10 days is recommended.  Obtaining your own DBS Clearance will help you when arranging this.

Making Your Application

You will need two references, one of which should be from either your University or an employer.  To avoid delays make sure you have these arranged before you submit your application.

Skills Tests

The government requires that you pass pre-entry skills tests in literacy and numeracy before you can qualify for a place on a PGCE course.  (http://sta.education.gov.uk/)

You have two months to pass the skills tests from the date you have been offered a place on the course. However, we recommend that you sit these tests as soon as possible to avoid delays later in the process.

Original Certificates

You must present the original documents at interview: GCSE English, GCSE Maths, GCSE Science (Primary applicants only) at Grade C or above, Degree Certificate if already awarded (or NARIC equivalent).
